Launched on the Google App Store on July 2, this game has got 34 million players so far. company that made this game Crafton said that its new India-specific PUBG Mobile avatar has crossed 34 million registered users within a week of its release. Action Title debuted in India only on the Google Play app store, while its availability on the Apple App Store is still unclear. Naturally, new registration numbers are only obtained through Google Play.
Crafton further stated that BGMI saw a peak of 16 million daily active users and 2.4 million peak Concurrent users. Its ranking on Google Play has also increased significantly since its launch, and at the time of writing this article, Battlegrounds Mobile India tops the ‘Top Free Games’ list. Crafton further claimed that the BGMI launch party, which took place on July 8 via its official YouTube channel, had peak viewership on the first day of around 500,000.

The South Korea-based gaming company also plans to host a Battleground Mobile India esports tournament to expand its reach among users. BGMI’s latest achievement is not at all surprising, as the original title PUBG Mobile gained massive popularity in India prior to the ban in September 2020 due to security reasons. According to market estimates, the original PUBG Mobile had over 180 million downloads and had a user base of 33 million in India alone. Notably, PUBG crossed 1 billion downloads worldwide in March this year.

BGMI will soon get its first major update
Meanwhile, BGMI will soon get its first major update after the Android launch. According to the company, players will be able to use a new weapon called the MG3 which can release 75 bullets with every load. The same weapon replaces the M249 machine gun which was found in the airdrop crate. The update also brings a new mode on BGMI called Mission Ignition, and the theme covers six regions of Erangel such as Transit Center, Georgopole and Tech Center. Users can also take advantage of the Right Shield that helps against bullets.
