The Ministry of Information Technology has asked for the immediate removal of fake news related to Corona virus from social media companies.
The Ministry has quoted media reports that social media has become the trend of misleading / untrue news and content on forums. People are sharing data and reports about the Corona Virus through these forums without any known source, which is causing fear among the people.

The government has appealed to social media companies to spread awareness so that the users who use them do not spread misleading content on the platform and only put ‘authentic information’ about the corona infection on these forums.Government launches WhatsApp chatboat for awareness
Along with the awareness message about Corona virus, fake messages are also being spread widely. In such a situation, the Government of India has created a WhatsApp chatbot ‘MyGov Corona Helpdesk’ to stop such news and provide correct information related to it. Through this chatboat, users will be able to ask any questions related to COVID-19 on WhatsApp.

Apart from this, Google has launched educational coronavirus website related to corona virus. Safety and official information about the epidemic has been given in this website.
