The new feature appears to be a server-side update, meaning that users are getting the new mute option from the App Store without updating the app. If users are not able to see this, then app should be updated from Google Play Store and App Store. WhatsApp announced about this through a post on Twitter.
The option to mute chat for one year was available earlier, which has been changed by ‘Always Mute’. This option comes next to the option of 8 hours and a week mute. To access this feature, the user has to go to a personal or group chat. You have to select the option of mute chat by going to the menu in the top on the right. After clicking on the name in the open chat, users of WhatsApp web can get this feature.
This feature of WhatsApp is not completely shocking because the possibility of such a feature was already reported in a report. It is available in Android beta version and iPhone beta version. However, WhatsApp beta for Android version 220.127.116.11 also added a storage usage UI option that provides information about storage files using the phone’s internal memory. This option essentially allows users to manage storage and the facility is not currently available. Similarly, the Media Guideline feature also came, whose features are in the stages of development. With this feature, users can insert sticker and text while editing the image.
