Government extends the last date of Aatmanirbhar Bharat App Innovation Challenge till July 26, know details

new Delhi. The government has extended the deadline for sending entries for this till July 26, 2020, in view of the overwhelming response to the self-reliant India App Challenge. This information was given in an official statement. According to the statement, 2,353 entries have been received so far in the eight identified categories. IT and Communications Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad also tweeted, ‘Keeping in mind the enthusiastic participation of app developers and innovators, the last date for submitting their entries for the #SelfReleased App Innovation Challenge has been extended to 26 July 2020’.

This challenge is hosted on the Innovate portal of MyGov. The deadline for submission of entries was earlier 18 July, which has now been extended.

The official statement said, ‘The self-reliant India App Innovation Challenge’ launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 4 has seen a very enthusiastic response from tech entrepreneurs and startups across the country. So far 2,353 entries have been received in eight categories.

These include 1,496 entries from private individuals and about 857 entries from organizations and companies. Of those received from individuals, about 788 apps are ready for use and the remaining 708 are in the process of development. The submitted app has 380 under business, 286 health and wellness, 339 e-learning, 414 social networking, 136 games, 238 office and work from home, 75 news and 96 under entertainment categories. There are about 389 apps under the other category. The official statement said that about 100 of these apps have more than one lakh downloads.
