Narayanan wrote a post about the bug on his LinkedIn page and stated that ‘this bug allows remote attackers to have a permanent prohibition of service attacks on Android devices’. In simple language, this bug crashes on someone else’s phone when sending a contact card to someone. For information, let us know that there is no talk of any common contact card, but it comes into action when a series of characters with any keys is sent. For example, with the name ‘dbjaduhhudsahdshjdsayugdasgusadbhjdshbasdgttsdgsdbhjdsnjdsjndsjdsjjdsnjdsmjds’ and then it has many numbers of fields (Home, Work). This is because the phone does not recognize the name of the n-character while sending the contact card and after that the phone starts crashing.(Also read- Jio’s very cheap plan! In an interview given to News Minute, Pratish told that a fix space is given to save a contact from the operating system, after filling it, the system is unable to handle it and trouble starts.
For information, let us tell you that this is not the first time that Narayanan has found this. Narayanan has been reporting about such bugs to companies like Facebook and Google for two-three years, for which he has also received rewards. So far Narayanan has reported 13 bugs, including 9 for Facebook’s WhatsApp, 3 for Google and 1 for Microsoft Github.
In this way Narayanan has earned millions and says to continue it even further. Narayanan says, “There are many students like me who do this kind of work like freelance, and I will probably continue it even after finishing my course.”
