Paytm has launched a mini app store for Indian developers on Monday to compete with Google. This launch comes after a time when Google removed Paytm from the Play Store for some time, in such a situation, Paytm has launched its own store. Till now the market was dominated by Google, but with the introduction of Paytm’s Mini App Store, users have got an option in addition to Google Play Store.

Google has stated on its website that the Mini App Store will integrate open source technology such as HTML and JavaScript and will give 150 million active users access to the Paytm app. Some apps are appearing on the website, including more than 300 apps including 1MG, NetMeds, Decathlon Domino’s Pizza, FreshMenu and NoBroker.

Paytm says that developers can distribute apps on this platform through Paytm Wallet and UPI at 0% payment charge. At the same time, by doing this through credit card, app developers will have to pay 2% charge. The platform comes with a developer dashboard for analytics, payment collection and marketing tools. Mini apps will be available on the Mini App Store, which will have an interface similar to a mobile app. Mini apps are a kind of custom build mobile web, which gives users an app-like experience without downloading.

According to Paytm founder and CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma, ‘I am proud that we are launching something today that creates a new opportunity for every Indian app developer. Paytm Mini App Store empowers our young Indian developers to take advantage of our reach and make payments to create new innovations. For Paytm users, it will be a seamless experience that does not need to be downloaded separately, and it enables them to use the preferred payment option. ‘
