Google has deleted 29 apps from the play store, in which adware was found. These apps have been downloaded over 3 million times on the Play Store. Threat intelligence team White Ops Satori’s intelligence team has spotted 29 apps as part of its ‘CHARTREUSEBLUR’ investigation. While investigating, ‘blur’ is found in the world codename. Found malicious app is photo editing app, which has blur feature.

How did these apps work?
According to the team, these Android apps were running out of context (OCC) ads in the phone. Hackers use OCC so that it cannot be detected. It has been said that after the app is installed, the launch icons of these apps in the phone disappear from the phone. Because of this, users find it difficult to delete these malicious apps from the phone.

The team said that every action pop-up add of the app comes. These actions include unlocking phones, installing apps, phone charging, and switching from mobile data to Wifi.
