While choosing the color, the focus of WhatsApp was that there should be minimum emphasis on the eyes. Also, WhatsApp wanted to use colors that are similar to the default colors of the iPhone and Android systems.

Users using Android 10 and iOS 13 can turn on Dark Mode by going to System Settings. Users using Android 9 or earlier can turn on this feature by going to WhatsApp Setting> Chat> Theme and selecting ‘Dark Mode’. WhatsApp said that in the coming few days this feature will be available in the new version of WhatsApp. It was also said that WhatsApp hopes that all users will enjoy ‘Dark Mode’.
