WhatsApp informed the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) that ‘Frequent Forwarded Message’ has decreased by 70% due to WhatsApp’s initiative to set new limits.
In April, MeitY asked Tittock, Halo and Facebook to send a daily report detailing the measures taken to prevent the spread of misinformation on their platforms.

A spokesperson for WhatsApp said that after almost two weeks of the introduction of the new limit, the number of frequency forwarded messages sent to WhatsApp globally has decreased by 70 percent. This means that the prevalence of misinformation related to sensitive issues such as coronovirus epidemic has decreased compared to the last few months. This also means that most of the messages you receive on WhatsApp are likely to be authentic.

Change these features due to Corona virus
