Petrol-Diesel Price Today: Petrol and diesel prices in the country continued to remain stable for the past several days. However, the crude oil prices have come down significantly in the last few days. Despite this, there has been no reduction in the prices of petrol and diesel.
This question is arising in the hearts and minds of oil consumers that when will the effect of the fall in crude oil prices on petrol and diesel prices? Experts believe that soon its effect can be seen and a slight fall in prices can be recorded.
What do the experts guess
The new rates of petrol and diesel are released only after the review of crude oil prices in the global market. Crude oil prices have been fluctuating in recent days, but the oil companies have not yet taken any step in the direction of reducing the rates of petrol and diesel.
In the international market on Sunday, the price of Brent crude was at $ 92.84 per barrel while the rate of WTI crude was at $ 86.79 per barrel. On Monday, the price of WTI crude fell to $ 86.05 per barrel and Brent crude to $ 92.19 per barrel.
If compared with the rate of August 31, the prices have come down significantly. On August 31, the price of WTI crude was at $ 96.77 per barrel and Brent crude at $ 104.7 per barrel. On Saturday also, Brent crude oil was trending around $ 92 per barrel. In view of this decline, experts are forecasting a reduction in the rate of petrol and diesel. Now all eyes are on the decision of the oil companies.
Difference in prices in only two states
If we talk about stability in the rates of petrol and diesel, then in the third week of May, it was decided by the central government to reduce the excise duty. Later, many state governments also reduced the rates of VAT. After that, the rate of both petrol and diesel was significantly reduced. Barring Maharashtra and Meghalaya, prices have remained stable in other states of the country for more than three and a half months.
