Petrol-Diesel Price Today: The long period of stability in the prices of petrol and diesel continued even today. According to the new rates released by the government oil companies today, there has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel. Petrol and diesel prices have remained stable for more than three and a half months.
However, after the steep fall in crude oil prices, experts are expecting a reduction in the rate of petrol and diesel. Crude oil prices in the global market have reached their lowest level in seven months. That’s why this hope has arisen.
There was a big advantage of the decision
On May 21, the central government had taken a big decision to reduce the excise duty on petrol and diesel. After that many state governments also reduced VAT rates. This decision had a big impact and the rates of both petrol and diesel had come down significantly. The rate of petrol was reduced by about Rs.8 and that of diesel by about Rs.6. Since then there has been a period of steady stability.
Maharashtra and Meghalaya are the only two states where prices have changed in the recent past. The Meghalaya government had recently decided to increase the rate of petrol and diesel by one and a half rupees. On the other hand, the Shinde government in Maharashtra had decided to reduce VAT on oil, after which petrol became cheaper by five rupees and diesel by three rupees.
At present, the price of one liter of petrol in the capital Delhi remains at Rs 96.72 and one liter of diesel at Rs 89.62. In Mumbai, petrol is being sold at Rs 106.31 and diesel at Rs 94.27 per liter.
After all, why was the expectation of reducing the rate born?
Petrol and diesel rates are not expected to come down unintentionally. In fact, crude oil prices have come down significantly in recent days. Since the first week of September, there has been a downward trend in the prices.
On Wednesday morning, the price of WFTI crude was $ 87.67 per barrel while Brent crude reached $ 93.49 per barrel. There was a slight rise in crude oil in the market that closed on Wednesday evening. On Friday, there was a huge decline and the price of WTI crude reached $ 85.05 per barrel. At the same time, Brent crude was seen at $ 90.85 per barrel.
Experts are expecting further fall in crude oil prices in the coming days. For this reason, it is believed that the rate of petrol and diesel may come down in the near future. Consumers are looking at oil companies with hopeful eyes in this regard.
