Stock Market Today: Benchmark indices rose with gains in IT stocks today. The Sensex was up 334.22 points or 0.57 per cent at 58684.75 and the Nifty was up 91.60 points or 0.53 per cent at 17479.80. About 1408 shares have risen, 384 shares have declined and 87 shares have remained unchanged. Shares of almost right IT companies are rallying.
Hindalco Industries, Infosys, Shree Cements, UltraTech Cement and IndusInd Bank were the major gainers on Nifty, while Tata Consumer Products, Britannia Industries, SBI Life Insurance, ONGC and Divis Labs were among the losers. Infosys led the rally with a gain of 1.5 per cent. In Asian markets, Nikkei, Hang Seng, Shanghai Composite Index and SGX Nifty are all in the green.
With the BSE opening in positive territory, the bulls pushed the domestic markets higher. Strength in broader markets as Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 climbed up to 0.8 per cent.
Adani Total Gas, Adani Enterprises, Dabur India, Britannia Industries, Berger Paints, GAIL, Balkrishna Industries, Container Corporation, Dalmia Bharat, REC, Bharat Heavy Electricals and LIC Housing are among the companies that will announce their quarterly earnings today.
Aditya Birla Capital reported its highest ever consolidated quarterly net profit of Rs 429 crore in the April-June period, up 42 per cent over the year-ago period. The company had reported a net profit of Rs 302 crore in the corresponding June 2021 quarter of the previous financial year.
