Adnan Syed has been released from prison.

City Circuit Court on 19 September Judge Melissa Finney ruled that prosecutors made a compelling argument that Syed’s sentence was flawed, according to NBC News, The judge declared that the state had breached its legal obligation to share evidence that could have supported Syed’s defence.
Dismissing the convictions of murder, kidnapping, robbery and false imprisonment, Judge Finn ordered that Syed – who spent more than two decades behind bars – be released on his identity and placed him under house arrest Go.
The judge gave prosecutors 30 days to move forward with a new trial or drop the case altogether.
Following the verdict, the Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosho issued a statement saying the allegation of withholding evidence from the defense was “false”.
“Among other serious problems with the vacating motion are the allegations relating to Brady’s violations,” the statement said. “Neither the State Attorney [Marilyn] mosby Nor has anyone in his office bothered to consult either the Assistant State Attorney who litigated the case or with anyone in my office regarding these alleged violations. The file of this case was made available to the defense on several occasions.”
