This is the first by-election to the assembly in the state after the revolt by the Shinde faction. The Election Commission has not yet given its verdict in the ongoing war between Uddhav and Shinde faction. Pawar announces support to Shiv Sena

The Andheri East seat fell vacant after the death of MLA Ramesh Latke. Latte, who won on Shiv Sena ticket, had won this seat twice in a row. After the cancellation of the assembly membership of Anant Singh, by-elections are being held in the area. Political experts believe that Anant Singh’s wife Neelam Devi or any other close can be fielded by RJD from this seat. Anant’s wife is more likely to be fielded in the election field. To counter RJD, BJP will have to exert full force on this seat.

BJP’s hold strong in Gopalganj seat

The hold of the BJP is considered strong in the Gopalganj Sadar assembly seat of Bihar.
