Mamata Meets PM Modi: Bengal CM meets PM Modi, demands release of Rs 100 crore outstanding central fund

New Delhi: There was a meeting between two extreme political opponents in New Delhi today. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, who arrived in Delhi on a four-day visit, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This meeting between the two lasted for about an hour at the PM’s residence. During this, many issues were discussed between the two leaders. Mamta Banerjee raised the issue of outstanding funds of Rs 100 crore in this meeting.

The complete list of arrears was given to the Prime Minister on his behalf, in which information about the arrears in other items including GST was given. This meeting between the two leaders took place at a time when the Congress was going on a massive protest in Delhi. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi was detained in an attempt to gherao the PM residence where Mamta met Narendra Modi.

Before meeting PM Modi, the West Bengal CM had a meeting with his party MPs on Thursday. In this, the current session of Parliament was discussed. Apart from this, discussion was also held regarding the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Mamata Banerjee meets President

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met President Draupadi Murmu for the first time on Friday evening. Mamta had supported her party leader and former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha as a presidential candidate during the presidential election. However, she later said that she would have supported Draupadi Murmu if the BJP had earlier told her about the presidential candidate.

Bengal CM to attend NITI Aayog meeting

Mamta Banerjee will also participate in the program of NITI Aayog on August 7. Prime Minister Modi will chair the meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog on this day, in which other important issues including agriculture, health and economy will be discussed.

Dilip Ghosh’s statement caused a stir

West Bengal BJP’s big leader and MP Dilip Ghosh made such a statement before CM Mamta Banerjee’s meeting with PM Modi that there was a stir. Ghosh had said that Mamata meets the Prime Minister so that people come to know that the setting has been done. The central government should not fall in their trap. Let us tell you that the ED is taking action against former cabinet minister Partha Chatterjee, who is considered very close to Mamta. After he came to the fore in the teacher scam, Mamta had shown him the way out of both the government and the organization.

Apart from this, Mamta’s visit to Delhi is also important at this time because the elections for the post of Vice President are going to be held tomorrow i.e. on Sunday. Where the Bengal CM has decided to support the NDA candidate and West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar, taking a different line from the opposition. The bitterness of the relationship between Dhankhar and Mamta Banerjee is well known. In such a situation, Mamta’s support to him surprised the opposition.
