Bharat Jodo Yatra: There has been a tussle between the opposition parties regarding the Bharat Jodo Yatra. The Congress has given a scathing reply to the CPI(M) after the CPI(M) raised questions regarding this visit. In fact, the CPI(M) had raised the question of India Jodo Yatra’s stay of 18 days in Kerala and 2 days in Uttar Pradesh. The Congress has given a scathing reply to the question raised by the CPI(M).
Congress has made it clear to CPI(M) that the purpose of this yatra is to unite the country as well as strengthen the Congress party. Congress has said in a sharp tone that opposition unity does not mean that we should let our party remain weak. For the strength of opposition unity, it is also necessary for the Congress to be strong.
CPI(M) object to insisting in Kerala
Till now there was a dispute between BJP and Congress regarding Bharat Jodo Yatra, but now this dispute has reached to Congress and CPI(M). The CPI(M) has also raised questions on the stay in Kerala for 18 days after this visit. The party says spending 18 days in CPI(M)-ruled Kerala, just two days in Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled Uttar Pradesh is a peculiar way of Congress fighting the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. A tweet has also been made by the CPI(M) in this regard along with a picture of Rahul Gandhi.
While tweeting a cartoon of Rahul Gandhi, the party has raised the question whether this yatra is Bharat Jodi Yatra or seat jodi. CPI(M)’s statement has made it clear that the party is not happy with the Congress and Rahul Gandhi putting more emphasis in Kerala. At present, the India Jodi Yatra has entered the border of Tamil Nadu to Kerala. This yatra is getting widespread support in many areas of Kerala. It is believed that due to this the tussle between CPI(M) and Congress has increased.
The purpose of the visit is not opposition unity.
The Congress has reacted sharply to this statement issued by the CPI(M). Rejecting the objections of the CPI(M) on behalf of the Congress, it has been said that this yatra has not been taken out for the unity of the opposition but for the strength of the Congress. In a democratic system, the other party should not have any objection to the efforts being made by any party for its strength.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh while replying to the CPI(M) said that through the yatra, our aim is to strengthen the organization of the Congress. The party wants to make it clear that this yatra has been taken out to strengthen Congress and India and not for opposition unity. By the way, if the opposition unity is strengthened by this move of Congress, then we will definitely welcome it.
Allegations and counter-allegations between Congress and BJP
The Congress leader surrounded the BJP and said that during this visit, Rahul is getting wide support and due to this there is a lot of restlessness in the BJP and the Sangh. He said that false and baseless statements are being made by the BJP and the Sangh regarding the Yatra. On social media, a factory of lies is going to Chennai on behalf of BJP, which is trying to defame Congress by doing baseless talk. In the matter of blaming the Congress, BJP leaders have fallen to a very low level.
These days, the round of sharp allegations and counter-allegations is going on between the Congress and the BJP regarding the Bharat Jodo Yatra. The BJP had reacted sharply after the Congress’ outfit was shown burning on Monday. BJP alleges that Congress is trying to spoil the atmosphere of the country.
