Swaroopanand Saraswati Biography Hindi: The worshipers of Sanatan culture are the Acharyas of Sanatan. In the Acharya tradition, the journey from Adi Guru Harihar to Lord Adi Shankaracharya has been non-stop. The sequence ahead of Lord Adi Shankaracharya is continuous, incessantly moving, under whose umbrella the journey of Sanatan is going on. One stop of this yatra has been present today on the Pratipada of Pitru Paksha in the form of the visit of Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand ji of Sharda Peeth. It is not possible to sum up the journey of a child Pothiram Upadhyay to Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati in one article. There are many aspects of his personality from being a saint, a freedom fighter, an Acharya and even the Dharmacharya of Sanatan. Some disagreement with any of his sides or some different side is also possible, but it is well known that the life path of Swami Swaroopanand Ji Maharaj as a pillar of Sanatan will always be present as a pathetic guide for Sanatan culture.

In the spirit of protecting and organizing the Sanatan culture, Adiguru Bhagwan Shankaracharya built four religious capitals (Govardhan Math, Sringeri Math, Dwarka Math and Jyotirmath) in all four directions of India. Out of these four, the Shankaracharya of Dwarkamath is Swami Swaroopanand Ji Saraswati. Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati was born on 2 September 1924 in the village of Dighori near Jabalpur in Seoni district of Madhya Pradesh state in a Brahmin family to father Shri Dhanpati Upadhyay and mother Smt. Girija Devi. His parents named him Pothiram Upadhyay. At the age of nine, he left home and started religious pilgrimages.

During this he reached Kashi and here he learned Brahmalin Sri Swami Karpatri Maharaj Veda-Vedang, the scriptures. This was the time when the fight to free India from the British was going on. When the slogan of Quit India was raised in 1942, he also jumped into the freedom struggle and at the age of 19 he became famous as ‘Revolutionary Sadhu’. During this time, he also spent nine months in Varanasi jail and six months in Madhya Pradesh jail. He was also the president of the Ram Rajya Parishad, the political party of Karpatri Maharaj. He was made a Dandi Sanyasi in 1950 and received the title of Shankaracharya in 1981. He took initiation from Sharda Peeth Shankaracharya Swami Brahmanand Saraswati and came to be known as Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati.

Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati ji has been the Shankaracharya of two mathas (Dwarka and Jyotirmath). The dispute of Acharyapeeth of Jyotirmath went up to the court. The Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath is Swami Vasudevanand Ji Saraswati. It should be known that the post of Shankaracharya is very important. Shankaracharyas get special rights to guide Hindus of Sanatan culture and give orders to Hindus in matters like means of attaining God. All Hindus should follow the orders of Shankaracharyas. In the present era, due to the diplomacy of the British, the decay of religion, which has happened due to the contamination of our education system and the destruction of the Gurukul tradition. The Shankaracharyas of the four mathas and all the Vaishnavacharya Mahabhags are active for the re-upliftment of Hindus by organizing them.

Swami Swarupanand Saraswati ji was opposed to the worship of Sai Baba because some Hindus, being directionless and ignorantly engaged in worshiping the unreal, are creating distortion in Hindutva. According to Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati ji, ISKCON is coming to India and converting religion under the guise of Krishna devotion, it is the diplomacy of the British that taking the knowledge of Hindus, they are making Hindus their disciples by giving initiation. The 95th birthday of Shri Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati ji was celebrated in Vrindavan in the year 2018 and his 72nd Chaturmas was completed here.
