The activism of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the unity of the opposition in the political battle of 2024 is in a lot of discussions these days. In his recent visit to Delhi, Nitish Kumar had met many big leaders of the opposition including former Congress President Rahul Gandhi. He had spoken of coming unitedly in the 2024 elections, but West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee is giving a different indication.
Mamta Banerjee has also advocated the unity of the opposition in the fight against the BJP. By the way, Mamta wants to fight this battle with the help of regional satraps. It is clear from his statement that he does not accept the support of Congress and Left. During the party’s important meeting in Kolkata, he named many regional parties but made no mention of the Congress and the Left. This clearly indicates that Mamata is willing to form a non-Congress opposition front.
Mention of regional parties but left Congress
Mamta’s speech during the important meeting of the party in Kolkata gives a clear indication of her future political plans. He said that our aim is to oust the BJP from power in the 2024 elections. In this big fight, apart from Nitish Kumar and Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Akhilesh Yadav of Samajwadi Party, Tejashwi Yadav of RJD and other leaders will support Trinamool Congress. During her speech, Mamta did not even mention the Congress and the Left. By the way, this is not the first time that Mamta is seen cutting her shoulders from the Congress. In the Vice Presidential election too, he boycotted the voting and gave a big blow to Congress leader and opposition candidate Margaret Alva for the post of Vice President.
Mamta’s speech has clearly indicated that she is in favor of the non-Congress opposition front and she does not accept the support of the Left parties. He said that like the assembly elections of West Bengal, he also played in the Lok Sabha elections of 2024. We will never let BJP’s dream of 300 seats come true.
Strong lobbying to make Mamta a face
On the other hand, there seems to be a big screw in the face of the opposition for the post of Prime Minister. Trinamool Congress leaders have started advocating Mamata for the post of Prime Minister in a loud manner. During this meeting, Trinamool Congress leaders clearly said that Mamata Banerjee is capable of leading the fight against the BJP. Those who talked about making Mamata Banerjee the face of the opposition included party general secretaries Abhishek Banerjee, Sudip Banerjee and Kalyan Banerjee. Trinamool Congress leaders have already been advocating for making Mamata the face of the opposition.
Nitish does not want there to be no dispute in opposition unity
On the other hand, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has clearly said that he is not in the race for the post of Prime Minister. By the way, political experts believe that Nitish Kumar does not want to allow any dispute to arise in the opposition unity right now. That is why they are making such a statement under a well-thought-out strategy. It is clear from Nitish’s efforts, statements of JDU leaders and slogans written on the streets of Bihar that Nitish Kumar will also not shy away from openly claiming the PM face when the time comes.
BJP should not misunderstand
During the Trinamool Congress meeting, Mamta Banerjee also said that the BJP should not live in any kind of misunderstanding. Congress leader Rajiv Gandhi also had more than 400 seats, but he had to face defeat in the elections. That is why the BJP should also not nurture any arrogance. We will be able to defeat him. Parties from other parts of the country will soon join us and together we will be able to defeat the BJP. During her address, Mamta targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi fiercely. He said that the whereabouts of the bullet train are not known, but their lies seem to be spreading all around at the speed of the bullet train. He said that the Prime Minister only talks about his mind, he has no idea about the mood of the country. They are trying to sell the country but we will not let that happen.
After this speech of Mamta, it has become clear that the path of opposition unity in the political battle of 2024 is not so easy. While the Congress has started batting vigorously through the Bharat Jodo Yatra to make Rahul Gandhi the face, Mamta seems to be making her own voice.
