PM SHRI YOJNA: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday (07 September 2022) made a big announcement in the direction of education. He said, under the National Education Policy, a policy will be prepared for the new generation. To create a new model in education, approval has been given to develop ‘Prime Minister School for Rising India’ as a model school.
Dharmendra Pradhan informed that efforts will be made to enhance the quality of 14597 schools at a cost of Rs.27360 crores. Under the National Education Policy, even ‘play schools’ will be arranged. At the same time, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that a big decision has been taken regarding education. 2.94 crore is already going on under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, going forward, the cabinet has given permission for PM Shri Yojana today.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced the ‘Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India’ ie ‘PM-Shri’ scheme on the occasion of ‘Teacher’s Day’. Under this scheme, about 14,500 schools in the country will be developed and upgraded. During this, PM Modi said that ‘PM-Shri’ (PM SHRI) will be a modern and transformative way of imparting education in schools. In which special attention will be given to new technology, smart classes, sports and modern infrastructure. PM Modi made this announcement through Twitter.
What did PM Modi say?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, ‘On Teacher’s Day, I am announcing a new initiative. Under the Prime Minister’s Schools for Rising India (PM SHRI), 14 thousand 500 schools will be developed and upgraded across the country. All these schools will become models. These schools will incorporate the full spirit of the National Education Policy.
What is special about these schools?
PM SHRI will be a modern and transformative way of imparting education in schools
These are search oriented and learning centered with emphasis on the way education is imparted.
The focus will also be on modern infrastructure including state-of-the-art technology, smart classrooms, sports at its center.
Under this scheme state-of-the-art labs will be set up in schools.
Apart from bookish knowledge, practical knowledge will also be provided to the students through the lab.
– Attention will be given to sports among the children of Pre-Primary and Primary. This will also help in their physical development.
Glimpses of National Education Policy in PM SHRI Schools
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that with the advent of the National Education Policy, there have been a lot of changes in the education sector. PM expressed hope that ‘PM Shree School’ will benefit lakhs of students across the country. The implementation of this centrally sponsored scheme will be done by developing the existing schools of the central government, state, union territory and local bodies.

A statement has been issued by the Prime Minister’s Office in this regard. In which it has been said that, ‘PM Shri Schools will have a glimpse of all the components of the National Education Policy. These will work like exemplary schools. Also, will guide other schools in the vicinity.
