Siwan Mahaviri Akhara Procession: During the Mahaviri Akhara procession in Siwan, people from two sides clashed with each other. The matter escalated so much that people from both sides started pelting stones. Some people climbed the roof of the religious place and started pelting stones. Some women were also seen throwing stones at the people. During this, people of one side set fire to a betel shed.
Here, as soon as the information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and started trying to convince the people. But people from both the sides kept pelting stones. In this, 18 people including six policemen were injured. The injured are being treated in the hospital. After the incident, there is an atmosphere of tension in the old market of Badharia police station area. DM and SP reached the spot and appealed to the people to maintain peace. The administration has imposed Section 144 in the area to control the situation.
SP Shailendra Kumar Sinha says that anti-social elements are being identified. 10 miscreants have been detained. Search for him is going on. Those who are conspiring to create unrest in the area will be arrested. Let us tell you that from Thursday night to Friday morning, the area was converted into a police cantonment.
