Vice President Election 2022 Live Updates: Voting is on for the next Vice President of the country. Actually, the term of the current Vice President Venkaiah Naidu is ending on 10 August 2022. After Venkaiah Naidu, the picture of who will be the next Vice President of the country will become clear today. Voting is going on from 10 am, it will continue till 5 pm. After that the election results will be declared. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has nominated Jagdeep Dhankhar as its candidate for the post of Vice President, while the opposition has declared Margaret Alva as its candidate.

Mathematics in favor of Jagdeep Dhankhar

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has an absolute majority in the Lok Sabha. Whereas, it has 91 MPs in the Rajya Sabha. In such a situation, Jagdeep Dhankhar seems to have a clear edge over his rival Margaret Alva. Chances of Dhankhar becoming the next Vice President are high. Naidu’s term ends on August 10, 2022.
