Virginity Loss: What happens when you lose your virginity? Know about the misconceptions related to it

Virginity Loss: Many things have been written and said about losing your virginity. In fact, there are so many misconceptions about it that many women create a lot of fear in their mind about it. Losing your virginity is nothing but the rupture of your hymen inside the vagina that has been kept intact before sexual penetration. Many women face the bitter end of losing their virginity because they have doubts and judgments about their bodies in their minds. Apart from body changes, does one really change internally after losing one’s virginity? let’s find out.

nothing really changes

Truth be told, nothing really changes after you lose your virginity. Your hymen may no longer be intact and your body hormones may change but you won’t really change.

you can develop feelings

One of the popular things that change after sex is the development of emotions. According to studies, a large percentage of people develop feelings for the person with whom they had sex for the first time. These feelings may not always be reciprocated, but they are not permanent either. They are temporary.

Why do emotions develop after sex?

Sex is a very intimate act between two people which can initiate strong feelings between them. When people have sex, the body releases oxytocin, a hormone that increases feelings of love, affection, and desire. And so, the development of feelings after sex can be quite normal. But not everyone feels the same- this usually happens in casual relationships where love is not part of the equation.

your appearance doesn’t change

After having sex, your body will not change its appearance. You will look exactly the same as before. There is no way for others to realize whether or not you have just lost your virginity.

your mental state changes

When you have sex, you must be mentally and emotionally prepared to come across a slew of emotions that come with sex. You will experience a wave of emotions which may confuse you at that point of time but you will eventually find yourself completely on board in no time. Some others have sex before they are mentally ready and it can be difficult for the person to cooperate without proper love and support.

You may feel compelled to be with that person

Despite strong beliefs about sex, it should be up to you whether you want to move on from the person you lost your virginity to. You shouldn’t be forced to be with that person just because you had sex with him. You shouldn’t be obliged to that person. Sex is a natural act that can happen between any two people.
