Ajit Agarkar claims Shikhar Dhawan can do anything in Sri Lanka, but his place in T20 World Cup is not confirmed

New Delhi: A young team of India is going to face Sri Lanka in a few days from now under the captaincy of Shikhar Dhawan. This series is going to be very important for all the players keeping in mind the T20 World Cup to be held this year. Especially for the captain of this team, Shikhar Dhawan.

Big statement of this veteran on Dhawan

KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma can handle the opening for the T20 World Cup. Apart from this, Virat Kohli has also said that he too can start the innings with Rohit. In such a situation, it can be very difficult for Dhawan to make a place in the team. Meanwhile, former India fast bowler Ajit Agarkar has given a big statement about Dhawan. He said that even if Dhawan wins all the matches on the Sri Lankan tour with Team India, it will be difficult for him to make it to Team India for the World Cup.

The road is tough for Dhawan

Agarkar believes that Dhawan has not done anything wrong but still he is not India’s first choice opener in the T20 World Cup. While talking to Sony Sports, Agarkar said, ‘He has to score runs. Especially in the T20 series, maximum runs have to be scored. I don’t think he did anything wrong in IPL but still Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul are way ahead of him at the moment. Recently, Rahul’s performance has not been special but still he has shown a great game in limited overs cricket.

Lots of contenders for the opening

In the T20 World Cup, there are constant questions being raised about which batsman will open with Rohit Sharma for Team India. The biggest contender for this place in the team is KL Rahul. But the captain of the team Virat Kohli has also said that if needed, he can also open with Rohit. Accordingly, it can be very difficult for Shikhar Dhawan to make a place in the team.
