Angry channel gave affidavit in court, said ‘BCCI is afraid of Cricket Australia’

Melbourne: Controversy between Cricket Australia (CA) and Channel Seven continues to escalate and now the broadcaster has taken to the court seeking information about the dialogue between the two boards. It also said that CA is scared of the Indian Cricket Board.

According to ‘Sydney Morning Herald’, the channel has confirmed the filing of affidavits in the court. The channel has said that CA has violated the broadcast contract by changing the schedule of the series to suit the interests of the BCCI.

Seven West Media chief executive James Warburton said Cricket Australia (CA) was to begin the series against India with day-night Tests instead of ODIs and T20 matches which will now be played in Adelaide from 17 December.

He said, ‘It is shameful that Cricket Australia does not respect us as a broadcaster and remains a wet cat in front of BCCI. He is afraid of BCCI ‘.

The channel says that the top CA officials are running on the free will of BCCI and other domestic broadcasting partner Foxtel.
