Asia Cup 2021 canceled due to rising cases of Coronavirus in Sri Lanka


New Delhi: There are bad conditions in India due to the second wave of Corona Virus. Some of the same atmosphere is now gradually in the neighboring country of Sri Lanka too. Due to the rising corona virus in Sri Lanka, a bad news has come for cricket fans.

Asia Cup canceled

Let me tell you that the Asia Cup to be held in Sri Lanka instead of Pakistan was canceled on Wednesday due to the increasing cases of Corona epidemic. The last time the Asia Cup was to be held in June this year in 2018, but Sri Lanka Cricket CEO Ashley DeSilva announced that it was difficult for them to organize the tournament.

DeSilva said, “In view of the current situation, this tournament will not be held in June.” He further said, “The tournament was to be held in Pakistan but due to political tension between India and Pakistan, it was not possible for the Indian team to go, so it was decided to have it in Sri Lanka.”

Now this tournament will be possible only after a long time after the 2023 ODI World Cup. However, the Asian Cricket Council, headed by BCCI Secretary Jai Shah, is yet to make a formal announcement.

The entire country is currently deeply troubled by the second wave of Coronavirus. People are losing their lives due to lack of essential medicines and oxygen.
