Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has returned to the top 10 in the ICC Test rankings on the basis of his impressive performance, but captain Virat Kohli has slipped to fifth place in the batting rankings. Bumrah took 9 wickets for 110 runs in the Nottingham Test match. With this, he has climbed 10 places to 9th place in the bowlers’ list.

Kohli could not even open an account in the lone innings of the first Test, slipping him a place down the batting rankings to fifth. England captain Joe Root has moved to fourth place in his place. He won the man of the match award by playing innings of 49 and 109. This gave him 49 rating points.
