new Delhi: Today’s birthday is Virendra Sehwag, the veteran batsman of cricket world. Born on 20 October 1978 in Najafgarh, Delhi, Sehwag has turned 42 today. Fans of Team India’s explosive opener Sehwag are still crazy about his batting. Sehwag’s stormy opener has not come second in Indian cricket.

Virender Sehwag has achieved many achievements in his career. But very few people know that Sehwag’s cricket career was over before it started. In fact, Virender Sehwag broke his teeth during a cricket match when he was 12 years old. After which his father flatly refused to play him. However, with the help of his mother, he started playing cricket and never looked back.

This journey of Sehwag was not easy. He played his first ODI against Pakistan in the year 1999. In which he proved to be a flop badly. He was dropped from the team due to poor performance in debut. But this star player did not give up. After a year long wait, Sehwag was given a chance again. He scored 58 against Australia in his fourth ODI and along with this he also took 3 wickets.

Sehwag has achieved many milestones in his career. Sehwag became the first Indian batsman to score two triple centuries in Tests. He scored a triple century in the Chennai Test against South Africa in the year 2008. Sehwag also scored a double century against the West Indies in 2011. He became the second player after Sachin to hit a double century. Sehwag scored an innings of 219 runs.

Apart from this, Virender Sehwag has played 3 ODIs and a T20 World Cup in his career. In the year 2003, Sehwag played the World Cup final where Team India had to lose to Australia. In 2007, the team was eliminated from the India League round. After this, in 2011, the Indian team won the World Cup, in which Sehwag scored 380 runs at an average of 47.50.

Let me tell you that Virender Sehwag scored 8586 runs in 104 Tests in his career with a bang average of 49.3. At the same time, in 251 ODIs, he scored 8273 runs at an average of 35. Also, Sehwag has scored a total of 38 centuries in his international career.
