Ishant has regained fitness and is now entitled to a place in the team for the third Test match to be held in Sydney from 7 January. Ishant will have to reach Australia as soon as possible. On the other hand, Rohit is currently undergoing treatment for hamstring injury at NCA. Rohit got this injury during IPL 2020.
Rohit will be allowed to travel only in the second week of December as he has not yet achieved full fitness. Rohit will have to stay in rehab for 2 weeks and only then NCA will be able to reach a decision about him.
If Rohit leaves for Australia on 8 December, he will have to stay in two weeks of quarantine and then he will be able to practice from 22 December itself. Earlier, Indian team coach Ravi Shastri said in the past that if Rohit and Ishant have to take part in the Test series, then they will have to leave for Australia in the next four or five days in any case.
