New Delhi: Before the 5-match T20 series against England, Team India may get a big blow. India’s mystery spinner Varun Chakraborty is unlikely to play in the T20 series against England. The Indian team has to play a five-match T20 series against England in Ahmedabad from March 12.
Varun can bowl in seven ways
Mystery spinner Varun Chakraborty has claimed that he can bowl seven ways. These include offbreak, legbreak, googly, carrom ball, flipper, topspin, yorker on the toes. The exit of mystery spinner Varun Chakraborty is nothing short of a big setback for Team India.
Fail in fitness test
29-year-old spinner Varun Chakraborty has not done better in the new fitness benchmark set for Indian players. Under the new fitness benchmark, a two-kilometer race has to be completed within 8.5 minutes or a score of 17.1 in the yo-yo test.
Varun Chakraborty also had a chance to debut in the Indian team on the tour of Australia, but due to injury, he was also out of the team there. Chakraborty has said that he is still waiting for the BCCI’s reply. He said, “Nobody has told him anything till now.”
Out of the Indian team for the second time in five months
Varun Chakraborty will be out of the Indian team for the second time in five months. He was selected in Team India for the T20 series against Australia, but due to injury, he was dropped from the team. Chakraborty had done well for KKR in the last IPL season after which he got a place in Team India. Chakraborty was placed in the National Cricket Academy (NCA) after suffering an injury.
