new Delhi: West Indian great batsman Brian Lara has described Suryakumar Yadav as a ‘class player’ and said that the 30-year-old player should have been in the Indian team on the tour of Australia. Yadav played a big role in getting the 5th IPL title to Mumbai Indians. He scored 480 runs in IPL 2020. Despite his excellent form, however, he could not make a place in the Indian team for the tour of Australia.

Lara said, ‘Yes, definitely, he is a class player. I don’t just look at the players who score runs. I see their technique, ability, playing under pressure, the order they are batting. According to me, Yadav did a great job for Mumbai.
He said, ‘He always came to bat after Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock. He used to stay under pressure and he came in at No. 3. Remember, the number three batsman is usually your best batsman in any cricket team, except the openers, and also the most reliable. For me he was this for Mumbai Indians and I don’t see any reason why he is not in the team.
India has to play a three-match one-day tour of Australia and a T20 series of the same number of matches. The ODI series starts on November 27. After this, the T20 series will be played from December 6 and then the 4-match Test series from December 17.
