Commonwealth Games 2022 Day 8 Live UpdatesIndia’s wrestling team will start its campaign on the 8th day, featuring stars like Bajrang Punia, Deepak Punia, Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat. Bajrang, who won gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, and fellow wrestler Deepak Punia trained at the University of Michigan before arriving in Birmingham for the Games. Bajrang had won a gold medal in the Gold Coast, and will be hoping for a similar result this time around. After an action-packed Day 7, in which India collected two medals (1 gold and 1 silver), the main focus will be on the Indian women’s hockey team, as they take on Australia in the semi-finals on Day 8. On Thursday, Sudhir won a historic gold medal in men’s heavyweight para powerlifting, while Murali Sreeshankar won a silver medal in the long jump. Star runner Hima Das will also compete in the women’s 200m semifinal. In badminton, PV Sindhu will meet in the women’s singles round of 16. Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy will also be in action in the men’s doubles.
