Corona virus wreaks havoc on Zimbabwe cricket, 2 cricketers Kovid-19 positive

Harare: 2 Zimbabwean cricketers, Regis Chakabva and Timycen Maruma – who were on standby for the upcoming tour of Pakistan, have been found to be Corona virus positive. Both were part of the 25-member squad for the Pakistan tour, but were not included in the 20-member squad that arrived in Islamabad earlier this week.

Zimbabwe Cricket said in a statement, Chakwa and Maruma, as well as the other two infected employees, are currently under self isolation as per the Kovid-19 protocol. We wish him a speedy recovery and welcome back to work soon.

He said, in addition to helping the infected and affected people, we will continue to follow government and public health guidelines regarding our facilities and staff, and will take further steps to prevent the infection of the corono virus. Zimbabwean players will now have to undergo another corona virus test after the quarantine period ends on October 27. Zimbabwe’s team will play 3 ODIs and many T20 matches in Pakistan.
