Recent Match Report – Australia vs New Zealand 2nd ODI 2022

tossNew Zealand chose to bowl vs. Australia

New Zealand will have a chase under lights to try to survive the Chappell-Hadley series after Australia’s win two days ago opted to bowl in Cairns by Kane Williamson.

Both teams have made one change each. Cameron Green has not recovered from the cramp at the end of the chase, where he remained unbeaten on 89 and was replaced by Sean Abbott, who got his first out of the season.

New Zealand have brought Tim Southee into the swing for the pace of Lockie Ferguson which means they maintain a similar balance with the twin spins of Mitchell Santner and Michael Bracewell.

Aaron Finch will head straight into the limelight as he continues to hunt for form. He was pinned lbw for 5 in the opening match of the series by Trent Boult, giving him 26 runs in four innings since the start of the Zimbabwe series.
