Recent Match Report – Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe 1st ODI 2022


In his first ODI as Zimbabwe captain, Regis Chakabwa decided to field against Bangladesh in the first match of the series in Harare.
Chakabwa, who is the stand-in captain after Craig Ervine withdrew from the ODI series due to knee and hamstring issues, said the 9.15 am start prompted him to take the decision. He continued his good run with the toss for Zimbabwe. Ervine had won all the three tosses in the previous T20I series which the hosts won 2-1.
Zimbabwe have gone for a three-man seam attack which includes all-rounder Luke Jongwe. Viktor Nyuchi was handed his ODI debut after impressing with figures of 3 for 29 in the final T20I. Chakabwa also has a decent batting line-up at his disposal, but lacks Ervine’s experience with Sean Williams, who also got out. series for personal reasons.
