WBBL News – Mignon du Preez re-signs with Hobart Hurricanes in WBBL

South African veteran Mignon du Preez is returning to the WBBL after re-signing with the Hobart Hurricanes.
The right-handed batsman was the highest run-scorer for the Hurricanes last season with 414 runs at an average of 31.84, scoring 115 runs with the help of four half-centuries. She is returning to the Hurricanes with her close friend and former South African teammate Lizelle Lee, who has signed on to play in Hobart after withdrawing last season. The pair had previously played together in the Melbourne Stars.
She will also be reunited with new Hurricanes captain Alice Villani, who is also a former Stars teammate.

“I can’t wait to return to Australia,” said du Preez. “I love Big Bash. Going to Hurricane last season was a big decision for me, but I can honestly say I had a great time on and off the field. I got to know a lot of girls really Well, and as we get to know each other better as a team, our cricket has really improved as well.

“We have the same team going into WBBL 08 last year, plus some really cool additions, and know firsthand what a quality player like Junior (Vilani) and Lizelle (Lee) can bring to T20s The team, I think it puts us in a pretty good position.”
