Dubai: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be face to face in the field in IPL 2020. Both these teams have played three matches in the tournament so far and both teams have managed to win just one match. Although Hyderabad had won in the last match, in such a situation, they would like to retain the rhythm of the victory in their name, while Chennai will try to make a comeback in today’s match.
Chennai Super Kings, who could not achieve the expected result in the previous matches due to the batsmen’s failure, will take the field more strongly with the fit of Ambati Rayudu and Dwayne Bravo. In the opening match of IPL, Chennai defeated Mumbai Indians. Rayudu, who was the hero of CSK’s win in the first match, did not play the next two matches due to a muscle strain while Bravo was injured during the Caribbean Premier League and has not played a match so far this season of the IPL.
Chennai Super Kings CEO KS Vishwanathan has said, “Both Rayudu and Bravo are available for selection”.
Rayudu’s fit means he can be replaced by Murali Vijay, who is in poor form. Bravo was replaced by Sam Curren and so far he has impressed with both his bowling and batting in the first three matches for Chennai. In order to keep Bravo in the team, Dhoni will have to take out either Shane Watson or Josh Hazlewood.
However, Kedar Jadhav’s poor form will definitely be a matter of concern for Dhoni as there is no proper option in the team to take his place.
On the other hand, the arrival of Kane Williamson has strengthened the middle order of the Sunrisers, which enabled them to register their first win after two defeats. Johnny Bairstow and David Warner are also contributing and in such a situation their team would not like to be relaxed.
If the Sunrisers want to succeed, they need a good ‘big hitter’ in the middle order as the team could be in trouble if Bairstow, Warner and Williamson fail. Abdul Samad of Kashmir has raised hopes while Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma need to improve their game.
As far as bowling is concerned, the bowling department of both teams seems to be the same. Chennai’s Deepak Chahar, Hazlewood, Karen, Ravindra Jadeja and Piyush Chawla can prove useful on Dubai’s slow wicket, while Sunrisers have found T Natarajan as a death-overs specialist who is the number one bowler in the T20 in the world. Can be proved to be allies.
