England captain Heather Knight has been ruled out of the Commonwealth Games and The Hundred tournaments due to a hip injury. England Cricket said, “England women’s captain Heather Knight has been ruled out of the Commonwealth Games and The Hundred. The hip injury she suffered in the first T20I against South Africa did not go as expected and Knight The treatment will continue.” a tweet. It added, “Nat Sciver will continue to captain Team England at the Commonwealth Games. No replacement player can be named, so England will compete with a 14-man squad.”

England have played two matches in the tournament so far and have performed brilliantly. The first game was against Sri Lanka in which they won an easy 5 wickets.
In the second match against South Africa, the English team put on a 167-run partnership on the board to chase down the Proteas. South Africa were reduced to 141 and England won the game by 26 runs.
England’s campaign is going well so far and they are one of the strong contenders to win the tournament. They are second in Group B with four points. They are below New Zealand, who also have four points but have a better run rate.
