New Delhi: The Ashes series between England and Australia will start in December. The England and Wales Cricket Board has announced England’s 17-man squad for the Ashes series. Joe Root has been made the captain of the team while Jos Buttler will play the role of vice-captain in the team. The first match of the Ashes series will be played on December 8 at the Brisbane Cricket Ground.
These big players were out of the team due to injury
England all-rounder Ben Stokes has failed to make it to the team due to an index finger injury. However, Stokes himself had announced to take an indefinite break. Jofra Archer is also not in the team due to an elbow injury. Apart from this, Sam Karan, who was a victim of back injury in IPL, has also not been included in the team.
Injured Broad included in squad
Stuart Broad, who was injured in the Test series against India, has been included in the team. Broad was injured in the Test series against India but now he is completely fine and will start practice from next week. Broad will be part of the England team for the Ashes series for the fourth time in his career.
