Football: At the age of 39, Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s dream of playing Euro shattered, knee injury became villain

A statement issued by AC Milan stated that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will stay away from the game due to treatment for 6 weeks. Soon after, the Swedish Football Federation announced that the 39-year-old player had told the national coach that he would not be able to fit on time for the tournament.

The federation said in a tweet, ‘Today Zlatan has informed Jane Anderson that her injury is not allowing her to participate in the Euro Championship. We hope to see them soon on the football field.

Significantly, Euro 2020 was postponed last year due to Coronavirus Pandemic. The tournament will be played from 11 June to 11 July at 11 Venues.
