Former Chief Selector of India Sarandeep Singh has revealed that Mahendra Singh Dhoni would play the T20 World Cup in 2020, but the Corona virus (Covid 19) changed the whole picture and Dhoni had to retire.
Sarandeep Singh said in an interview to SportsKida that Dhoni was fit and he could play the 2020 T20 World Cup, which was later postponed. If the Corona virus did not disrupt, Mahendra Singh Dhoni would have played the T20 World Cup in 2020.
Sarandeep Singh further said, ‘All the members of the selection committee believed that Dhoni deserved to play T20 World Cup. What he achieved for Team India as a player and a captain and has won so many trophies for India, he deserved this opportunity.
