new Delhi: In the current season of the IPL, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) all-rounder Jason Holder has proved to be a game changer. Seeing his performance, former Kolkata Knight Riders captain Gautam Gambhir has expressed surprise that no one had bought Holder in the IPL auction.
Gambhir (Gautam Gambhir) said, ‘It is surprising to me that no one bought a player like Holder in the auction. Jimmy Neesham, Chris Maurice were bought, the rest of the all-rounders were bought, but the two formats the holders play are playing international cricket for a team that has been struggling constantly in Tests and ODIs’.
Hyderabad had included Holder in their team in place of injured Mitchell Marsh. He has played six matches this season and has scored 55 runs coming in the lower order and taken 13 wickets. Out of these six matches, Hyderabad have lost in just one match.
Gambhir (Gautam Gambhir) said that the West Indies team is struggling in Tests and ODIs and the holders are part of that team, so they know how to handle the pressure.
Gambhir said, ‘When you are in such a situation in international cricket, then obviously you know how to handle the pressure. We have been constantly talking about how important it is for foreign players to handle the pressure of the IPL.
