Leads: Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has asked current captain Virat Kohli to seek help from former batting great Sachin Tendulkar to get rid of his poor form. Gavaskar said on Wednesday, ‘Kohli should immediately call Sachin and ask what should I do. Kohli can do the same as Sachin did in Sydney. He should tell himself that he will not play cover drives.
Gavaskar’s advice to Kohli
Virat Kohli became the victim of James Anderson by scoring just seven runs in the first innings on the first day of the Leeds Test match. This is the seventh time in Test cricket that James Anderson has dismissed Virat Kohli. Sachin played sparingly during the fourth Test in Sydney during the 2003–04 Australia series. He played 436 balls at that time, but did not play cover drives during this period.
Kohli should ask Sachin for help soon
Sunil Gavaskar has advised Virat Kohli to take tips from Sachin Tendulkar, so that he can come out of poor form on this tour of England. Talking about Virat Kohli, it has been more than a year since he scored a century. Kohli’s fans are hopeful that he will soon come out of poor form.
Team India batsmen surrender
England bowled India’s first innings for 78 runs on the first day of the third Test at Headingley on the back of brilliant bowling by fast bowlers James Anderson (3/6) and Craig Overton (3/14). By the end of the day’s play, England scored 120 runs without losing a wicket and took a 42-run lead. The bowlers of the Indian team failed to achieve any success on the first day.
Bowling also failed to make a mark
After wrapping India in the first innings, the England team got off to a great start and their opening pair made a century partnership for the first wicket. The Indian bowling attack also failed to make a mark today after a disappointing performance from the Indian batsmen.
