new Delhi: Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s mentor Deval Sahay passed away. He breathed his last in Ranchi’s hospital on Tuesday morning. He was 73 years old. His family members are heartbroken, including his wife, a son and a daughter.

Apart from cricket, Deval Sahay has also been a great player of football. He disassociated himself from the sports administration in the year 2006 after retiring from the post of Personal Direct of Central Coalfields Limited. The Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) has also expressed deep sorrow over his death.
Devele Sahay was also mentioned in Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s biopic ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’. He had given Dhoni a chance in CCL from Railways. Deval Sahay played an important role in bringing Dhoni to the heights, he held high positions in CMPDI and CCL. During his tenure, he made direct appointment of cricketers.
