ICC confirms next T-20 World Cup in India as per schedule

new Delhi: The next T20 World Cup will be held in India. The ICC has confirmed this. This tournament of 16 teams will be played in October-November next year. Apart from Test playing nations, teams from Papua New Guinea, Namibia, Netherlands, Oman and Scotland will also participate in this World Cup.

The ICC spokesman said, “As of now, the schedule of organizing the tournament in India is fixed”.

Two consecutive T20 World Cups were to be held in 2020 and 2021. Australia was supposed to host the 2020 World Cup, but it has been postponed due to Kovid-19 and now the tournament will be held in 2022.

The ICC had said in August this year that the T20 World Cup 2022 will be held in Australia.

India hosted the T20 World Cup in 2016 which was won by the West Indies.

The ICC has said that if by then the Kovid-19 epidemic is not over, then necessary steps will be taken.

In a statement issued by the ICC, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has been quoted as saying, “The BCCI will leave no stone unturned to ensure that all health related facilities are provided in the tournament.” I am confident that we will overcome every challenge ‘.
