new Delhi: ICC’s new chairman Greg Barclay has said that the ICC wants to see India and Pakistan (IND vs PAK) playing bilateral series with each other regularly. He also said that he has no mandate to ensure that this actually happens.
India (Pakistan) and Pakistan (Pakistan) have not played a single Test series with each other in the last few years due to the continuing rivalry in political and diplomatic relations. Pakistan last visited India in 2007 for a 3-match Test series, while India toured Pakistan 14 years ago.

Greg Barclay told the media, ‘I would prefer nothing more than a bilateral series between India and Pakistan as they will be able to continue the cricketing relationship as before. I also understand that there are political issues in playing bilateral series here, which is beyond my jurisdiction.
He said, “I think that all we can do is continue to help the ICC. Also, we want to continue to help and support in any way, so that we can bring results that can give India and Pakistan In a situation where they can play cricket regularly against each other and at home. “
The new ICC chairman also said, ‘Also, I don’t think I have the ability to influence a mandate or more results. This is actually being done at a level where we are working. Barclay said that if the governments of both India and Pakistan reach any final conclusion, then the ICC will play the role of a facilitator in it.
He said, ‘Apart from the assurance as they say that from the point of view of cricket, we would love to bring those countries back together regularly. ICC will help in doing this.
