Dubai: Indian captain Mithali Raj once again topped the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) women’s one-day batting rankings with 762 points while left-handed batsman Smriti Mandhana is in the top 10 with ninth place.
Team India players benefit
Mithali Raj has become the number one batsman for the ninth time after reaching the top of the batsmen’s list for the first time more than sixteen years ago. West Indies captain Stephanie Taylor, who is at the top of the previous rankings, has slipped to fifth place.
In the bowlers’ list, Jhulan Goswami is the only Indian bowler in the top 10 with fifth position while Deepti Sharma is ranked 10th in the all-rounders’ ranking.
Mandhana’s advantage in T20 rankings
In the Women’s T20 International Player Rankings, Indian opener Mandhana is at third place, equaling her career-best ranking. He scored 70 runs in the third and final T20I against England which was his only match in this format last week.
In the update on Tuesday, West Indies captain Taylor suffered a loss of 30 points. West Indies beat Pakistan 3-2 in the five-match series. Taylor got a chance to bat in two of the three matches during the rankings and scored 49 and 21.
Taylor, who rose to the top of the one-day rankings last week with an unbeaten century in the first match of the series, has also lost the top spot in the all-rounders’ list to Australia’s Ellyse Perry. Taylor did not get any wicket in three matches, due to which she also slipped three places down in the all-rounders’ list.
