Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest world rankings on Wednesday. The players of Indian team have benefited immensely in this ranking. Rishabh Pant, Mohammed Siraj and Washington Sundar have made a quantum jump in the rankings after Team India’s win in the Test series against Australia.
Rishabh Pant’s blast
Rishabh Pant of India has become the highest ranked wicketkeeper batsman in the world by playing an unbeaten 89-run match-winning innings in the Brisbane Test match against Australia.

In the latest World Ranking released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday, Pant has risen to 13th position in the list of batsmen, which is the best ranking of his career.
Pant (Rishabh Pant), who is getting special recognition due to his aggressive batting, has 691 points. Among the wicketkeeper batsmen, he is followed by South African Quinton Dickock who is in 15th place with 677 points.
Loss to kohli
Australian batsman Marnus Labuschen has reached the third position on the first innings century in Brisbane, ahead of Indian captain Virat Kohli (862 points). Labushen has 878 points. Kohli did not play the last three matches of the Australia tour due to paternity leave.
New Zealand’s Kane Williamson (919) and Australia’s Steve Smith (891) are in the first two places.
Young Indian opener Shubman Gill continued to lead. He has moved from 68th to 47th on the basis of a superb innings of 91 runs in the second innings, while middle-order batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has moved up one place to seventh.
Siraj and Sundar benefited
In the bowlers’ list, Mohammed Siraj has jumped 32 places to reach 45th position. He took six wickets in the match, including five wickets in the second innings.
Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur, who are playing their first Test match, have also got a place in the rankings by their contribution in batting and bowling.
Washington Sundar is ranked 82nd in batting and 97th in bowling, while Thakur is 113th in batting list and 65th in bowling.

Australian captain Tim Paine has moved up three places to 42nd position from 50 and 27 runs, while fast bowler Josh Hazlewood has moved up to fourth place behind New Zealand’s Tim Southee. He took a total of six wickets in the match including five wickets in the first innings.
England’s Joe Root has returned to the top five in the batsmen’s list on the basis of an innings of 228 runs in the first Test match against Sri Lanka. He has 783 marks which is his highest rating in the last two years. Route six steps ahead.
