IND VS AUS 3T20: Virat gave up hope of victory as soon as Hardik was out

Sydney: After losing the third and last T20 match at the hands of Australia, Indian captain Virat Kohli has said that if there was a further partnership of 25-30 runs, Hardik Pandya could have removed the match. Despite captain Virat Kohli’s superb half-century innings of 85 runs, India lost by 12 runs to Australia in the third T20 match played at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Despite this defeat, India won the three-match series 2-1.

Kohli (Virat Kohli) said after the match, ‘At one time when Hardik started playing, we thought we could win it. Our batting was not right in the middle overs. Had there been a further partnership of 30 runs, it would have been a little easier for Hardik. We were on the way back. But it is good for us to end the 2020 season with a series win.

He said, ‘I think the audience was a reason and it always inspires you. Being an audience sometimes gives us energy to the players of Australia sometimes.

India now has to play a four-match Test series with Australia from 17 December. The last time India toured Australia, it won the first 2–1 Test on Kangaroo’s soil. Kohli will return home after the first test match due to the birth of his first child and the Indian team will play the remaining three matches without him.
