new Delhi: Team India opener Rohit Sharma passed the fitness test at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore ahead of the four-Test series against Australia starting on 17 December.
Due to the isolation rules in Australia due to Corona virus, he will not be available for the first two Tests but he can be a part of the team in the last two Tests.
A senior source of the Cricket Board of India (BCCI) said, “Rohit has passed the fitness test and he will be flying to Australia soon”.
Rohit Sharma’s fitness test was done under the supervision of NCA Director Rahul Dravid. Dravid was given the responsibility of giving him a fitness certificate.
It is expected that Rohit will leave for Australia in the next two days. He will remain in isolation for 14 days before practicing for the last two Tests to be held in Sydney (last 7–11 January) and Brisbane (15 January to 19 January).
Let us know that Rohit Sharma suffered a hamstring injury during IPL 2020, due to which he was dropped from the team for the tour of Australia and in a few days he returned to play cricket which led to speculation. The round has started. After this, he was included in the Test team. After which questions were raised again about his fitness. But now there is good news for Team India that Rohit is fully fit.
