Adelaide: Reports of swapping in the venue of the ongoing four-match Test series between India and Australia (IND vs AUS) are coming out due to the increase of cases of Kovid-19 in Sydney. Meanwhile, Cricket Australia has made it clear that Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) is still its first choice for the third Test Venue.
The third Test match between Team India and Australia (IND vs AUS) is to be played in Sydney from 7 January while the last match will be played in Brisbane on 15 January.
Australian cricket officials were alerted after an outbreak of the virus on Sydney’s northern beaches. According to reports, ‘the third and fourth Test match swaps between Sydney and Brisbane are the top choices. If this happens, the fourth Test match of the series will be played in Sydney from 15 to 19 January.
But Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley said that he expected the third Test match between India and Australia to be held in Sydney. “We have not made any change in the schedule and it is our first choice to have a (third) match at the Sydney Cricket Ground,” Hawkley said in a statement.

He said, ‘Cricket Australia has put in place concrete arrangements for the smooth conduct of matches in this very challenging time, we are looking forward to our biosafety team, governments, provincial and regional associations, Australian Cricketers’ Association, our partners and officials of Venuz Will continue to take appropriate decisions together.
Australian opener David Warner and fast bowler Sean Abbott, both recovering from an injury due to an increase in Kovid-19, have moved to Melbourne from Sydney, where the Boxing Day Test (second Test) is to be played from 26 December.
According to the report, along with the second Test, the third Test match can also be held in Melbourne.
